If you look closely at the old woman's sash you can see where my mother repaired the ceramic statue. The reason for the name is that a lot of the objects were my fathers that he collected throughout his journeys. I also included many of the pieces that I collected over the years as I travel with my work. I guess it was a way for me to illustrate that I am trying to carry on his tradition and that one day maybe my children will look over my collection and his and know that they too can find their own paths through life and maybe they too will pick things up here and there as a way of remembering their journeys. This piece took about 90 hours and is on Stonehenge Paper.
